Here are some photos I did yesterday for Tiffany's FW14/15 lookbook in Nicosia. All garments above by Alexander mcQueen. Below, twin set Philosophy by Alberta Ferretti. Make-Up and Hair by Andreas Zen. Photography by me...
Tinos island in Greece proved to be the antidote to any sort of dullness this summer. Breathtaking landscapes and immaculate color palettes filled my mornings and nights; friends with their stories, surfers going wild on every new sea-wave and celebrities visiting incognito were the main ingredients of my summer break.
Here's my friend Mara, looking gorgeous in the backyard of her home in Tinos. My camera went wild!
I just found these two backstage snapshots I did back in 2011. The model wears one of the two costumes I designed along with Maria Mastori's jewellery and headpieces, focusing on Cyprus/Hellenic traditional heritage. The project was titled THE BETROTHED and the original photography for the museum's catalogue was by the amazing Thanassis Krikis. The costumes were exhibited both in Greece and Cyprus as well as in Amsterdam. Styling by Nicholas Georgiou with hair and make-up by Stellar. For the 6th edition of its celebrated PV Awards, Première Vision is betting even more than ever on new, contemporary creation. Because this is the real purpose of this inspiring appointment, by now eagerly awaited by the industry’s weavers and buyers: to single out and distinguish the most remarkable, inventive and innovative fashion textiles from among Première Vision exhibitors’ creations. In pursuit of this goal, the world’s premier fabrics show will bring together, as it does each year in September, a prestigious jury comprised of influential personalities from the international fashion scene. Première Vision is proud to welcome young designer Yiqing Yin as Jury President.
Born in China, a graduate of the Ecole Nationale des Arts Décoratifs, Yiqing Yin has lived and worked in Paris, where she has shown her collections during the Haute Couture fashion week since 2011. She was awarded The ANDAM Prize for First Collections in 2011, and since January 2014 has been the Creative Director of the Leonard fashion house. A deserving representative of the new generation of designers working on the international fashion scene, Yiqing Yin thinks and designs clothing as an evolving structure, like a moving sculpture, influenced and driven by plays on volumes and materials, for an architectural and sensual result.
Her modern and innovative fashion vision was destined to bring the young designer and Première Vision together. The show, as a supporter of young fashion designers and creative innovation, welcomes the chance to collaborate with a young designer who represents the fashion of today, both global and exacting. As a reminder, prior to Yiqing Yin, PV Awards Jury presidents have been: Veronique Nichanian (Hermès) in 2009, Ennio Capasa (Costume National) in 2010, Roland Mouret (Roland Mouret) in 2011, Felipe Oliveira Baptista (Lacoste) in 2012 and Alessandro Sartori (Berluti) in 2013. An exceptional and emotional moment to be shared by all the textile and fashion industry pros gathered at Première Vision.
