Dear iDEALS, last week I spent four days in Brussels, as a member of this year's jury for LA CAMBRE MODE[S] graduating fashion students. The renowned school presented their design and stylist skills on the runway at
Les Halles in Schaarbeek/Schaerbeek, in a super crowded space full of positive energy and talent. The tension was high as all creations were part of the students’ exams.
The student's works were evaluated by a selected number of professionals and watched by a
large audience, international journalists and fashion fanatics. On one incident, a gentleman told me that there was no La Cambre presentation he missed so far and I can truly understand why. I would like to thank Caroline Mierop Tony Delcampe, Herve Yvrenogeau and especially Didier Varvaeren. Also all the jury members for 2013.
It was the second time I met young designer Anais Lalu, fourth and final year student of La Cambre in Brussels. Her work is just stunning as it is always inspired by a personal story. Her face though is what strikes me the most. It's one of those moments I wish I'd been a film director. I shot her portrait a few minutes before she presented her collection.
