FW 13/14 ”ROUND FIELDS” A collection between tension and release, between straight lines and curves. Inspired by a traveller immersed in a mid-flight daydream, Christine Phung imagines facing the emptiness and vertigo above the circular fields of Nevada. A playful and dreamy experience, a test of one’s sense of self and one’s limits.
PHUNG is based in Paris, France. She studied at IFM and Duperré and graduated in 2002 having her collections produced in France. She is an award-winning designer whose signature collection is both delicate and boldly architectural, moving effortlessly between structured and fluid lines.
Ms. Phung is passionate about how fabrics fall and the richness of their touch.
The result of her interests is a collection that is both discreetly seductive and resolutely modern.
She studied fashion design at the École Duperré, and at the Institut Français de la Mode and soon began working for companies including Christophe Lemaire, Chloé, Vanessa Bruno, Lacoste and Baby Dior. In 2008, she exhibited her designs at the Musée d'Art Moderne in Liège for its Biennale du Design show. Ms. Phung won the Grand Prix of design for the City of Paris in 2011 and was a finalist in 2012 Mango Fashion.
