Dear iDEALS, Biennale Interieur is a bi-annual contemporary design trade show established in 1968; one of the oldest and most recognized Biennale of it's kind in the world. With 100.000 visitors per edition it's also one of the biggest. This year saw it's 23rd edition with Lowie Vermeersch as the curator. Vermeersch is a worldwide known designer and the design director of pininfarina s.p.a., which produces Ferrari, Maserati, Rolls-Roys, Radillac, Jaguar, etc.
As the winner of the 'Dress D Host(ess)!' competition,Damien Fredriksen Ravn was selected to design this year's uniforms. Previous designers of the uniforms include, among others, Stephan Schneider, Walter Van Beirendonck and Issey Miyake. His design, which was inspired by the logo of biennale interieur, is made out of a digitally printed breathable 3D 'spacer' neoprene, metallic coated polyurethane and black coated jersey. For the shoes HE collaborated with Underground and all the hosts and hostesses were wearing the single sole black suede wulfrun creepers.

As a continuation from SS12 the designer focused on laminating fabrics, more specifically precious silk velvets with hi-tech spacer, to get the armour look. He also worked with laser cut leather, in metallic hues and black patent, giving a modern wearable aspect of the armour...
