À few days ago I had the pleasure to attend for you the opening of the Rad Hourani unisex gallery in Paris.
Located in the Marais district, Rad Hourani's 1st Paris
store marks the 5th anniversary of his label. Created by the Canadian designer
himself, the white space is totally symbolic of Rad's signature aesthetic :
transformable, clean, graphic. As an extension of the unisex ready to wear
& haute couture lines, the gallery transcends the essence of Rad Hourani's
versatile collections and offers a selection of one of a kind pieces, art works
as well as exclusive garments available to purchase right off the runway. It's
an environment where design, art, film & photography meet to celebrate the
reflection of a genderless, seasonless visual universe.
Friendly staff dressed head to toe in the brand's signature
style pieces, all of them, whether male or female, in the same outfit,
resembling clones. Champagne. And the great privilege for me to finally meet a
designer I've been following & liking ever since he started. I was happy to
be able to tell him how much I like his work and the respect I have for
designers who like him stay true & directional.
Until January 11th the gallery presents a photographic exhibition of Zoe Duchene's b&w pictures of Rad Hourani wearing the limited edition collection exclusively designed for the unisex gallery.
