I had a great time attending for you the presentation of 'kitten hologram', the ss13 collection from fashion art activism collective Andrea Crews. Always searching for surprising show concepts, the label stroke again and chose a pop up hotel (the L140, a 1 room only hotel only open for 500 nights) for some sort of 'peep fashion show' since the models where seen from behind the hotel windows by an audience of fashion voyeurs standing opposite in a tiny street.
Two by two, in the same repeating mode, the looks, first only unveiled as shadows moving in
the windows to the beat of an obsessive techno soundtrack, were appearing clearly as
the music changed and the windows suddenly lit to reveal 2 models instantly frozen in a
pose like mannequins. In the 3rd window a girl was continually dancing.
Full of sporty streetwear/clubwear silhouettes in transparencies, prints, towel cloth, swiss
muslin, faithful to the brand's signature style, the collection was graphic, colourful, fun &
young.
Celebrating this year its 10th anniversary, Andrea Crews is collaborating with Uniqlo for
an aw1213 capsule collection, publishing a limited edition book and releasing a music
compilation with Colette, so stay tuned for more soon on Un nouveau iDEAL!
