A collection that is fresh, sumptuous and romantic to the end. With lightness of being in mind, Creative Director Marco Zanini has rendered new proposals for dressing in the spirit of the season. Perfect workmanship and lush materials are offset with rebel sportswear allusions to recall the French house’s mantra of simplicity and youth. In the interplay of cut and proportion are new silhouettes that strike the balance of whimsy and control.
Hoop skirts cut in full bloom and falling just so on the frame are as light and sweet as they are decadent, owing to exquisite fabrications of silk taffeta and duchess satin chiné. A peak of skin is revealed with crisp, cropped blouses.
There is exactitude without severity in the approach to construction. Corseted bustier tops, bathing sets and sculpted shirt dresses and coats with gently formed backs are softened by the range of colors and a unique print: a purely pretty chrysanthemum floral that appears in beguiling shades of lavender and seductive cherry.
For evening, knife pleats breathe life and movement into skirts lending a jaunty delicacy to the imagined manner in which its wearer will walk. These skirts paired with lingerie tops masquerade as gowns, and can be broken down at whim and worn apart.
