Dear iDEALS, JOYCE is making international headlines with the launch of its groundbreaking fashion collaboration, which sees the retailer team up with legendary designer, Romeo Gigli.
Italian-born Gigli is considered to be one of the industry’s most influential designers thanks to his distinctive style featuring soft and romantic silhouettes that reference everything from Renaissance Art to punk street style. Although he took a break from the industry in 2004, his influence has never faded with countless of designers paying homage to his work. His new collection, “JOYCE by Romeo Gigli” embodies his signature style, while appealing to a new generation of men and women looking for timeless fashion that is modern and relevant.
Called “JOYCE by Romeo Gigli” the collection comprises of men’s and women’s wear that embody the designer’s signature style, with a 21st century twist. The women’s collection pays tribute to the lightness, grace and poetic freedom and features soft lines that flatter a woman’s body. Cropped coats and capes come with large fur collars that frame the face. Velvet, mohair wool, streaked silk and brocade are transformed into floaty embellished dresses with tulip-shaped skirts. Layered blouses come with asymmetrical necklines that Gigli has made his signature. The colour palette is unmistakably Gigli, with delicate sand and powder hues that explode into rust, fire, purple and teal tones.
