Starting today, running until the 22nd June 2012, the Polimoda Fashion Week, a smashing series of events – coinciding with the latest edition of Pitti fashion tradeshow event - which will be held in Florence at the Polimoda, famous international fashion school headed by the brilliant Linda Loppa, including guest lectures featuring iconic personas of fashion business as Hirofumi Kurino, “Le Salon”, a cultural saloon evoking the Renaissance times including as panelists, friends and renowned leading characters of contemporary fashion as Robb Young, Stefan Siegel, Filep Motwery and many other ones.
It also follows the Polimoda Talents, laudable platform launched on January 2012 – I enjoyed very much – to showcase the work of students trained by this institution as the Brazilian shoe designer Andreia Chaves and Gianluca Tamburini for Conspiracy.
The fashion culture and emerging creativity will shine along with fashion shows by the graduated students, multimedia installations as the Polimoda Video Wall – a permanent screening of the best fashion films selected by Diane Pernet for the A Shaded View On Fashion Film Festival she created – and an event, the fifth birthday of BOF Business of Fashion, renowned blog by Imran Ahmed which will be celebrated with a party on 21st June 2012.
A not to be missed happening to enjoy the Italian excellence, young talents, and worldwide suggestions from contemporary fashion.
