Dear iDEALS, as you may know, L'École de la Cambre, more known as La Cambre, is a renowned architecture and visual arts school founded by Henry van de Velde in Brussels in 1926. Originally founded under the name Institut supérieur des Arts décoratifs, it soon became known as "La Cambre" after the Abbey of la Cambre in Ixelles in which premises it was established.
La Cambre was divided into two separate institutions in 1980, the École nationale supérieure des Arts visuels (ENSAV), and the Institut supérieur d'Architecture de la Communauté française de Belgique (ISACF).
I feel gratitude for the great opportunity La Cambre so generously offered me to be part of the 2012 edition. My four days in Brussels were incredible, surrounded by people who were gathered to celebrate talent and beauty in a ceremony that will be well remembered for my years to come. It is really impressive for one to see how much care the tutors have for all their students and their future, for each individually.
The ambiance of the school, the show and how perfectly everything was organized for the La Cambre project is remarkable. No wonder why the most important people in the industry of fashion were trained in Belgium. It all made sense to me, instantly. The world of fashion needs true professionals and thanks to La Cambre the future seems bright and promising.
