Dear Filep and iDEALS,
SuperBodies, the 3rd Hasselt triennial explores the fascination of a respected number of artists and designers for the way in which our body secretly moulds and shapes our experiences.
The exhibition does not just re-present the bodybut only it's-often half-conscious operations. A large, interactive ensemble of works from visual artists, choreographers and (fashion-) designers give the opportunity to the public to see and feel the body as the source of human thoughts and emotions. Upcoming and internationally established artists and designers operate on the boundaries between disciplines to unravel the mysteries of the body. The whole of the city of Hasselt will qualify as a stage, but the main focus will be on larger venues such as the Cultural Center, Z33, Fashion Museum Hasselt, CIAP and the city Museum Het Stadsmus.
The exhibition is open until 27.05.2012.
Names featured and preented: Martin Margiela, Rei Kawakubo, Junya Watanabe and Angelo Figus. The exploration of the body continues with great installations from Lemm&Barkey and Christophe Coppens. There is also work of some of favorite artists Kiki Smith and Louise Bourgeois and nice works from Anna-Nicola Ziesche, Naomi Filmer, Ilke Theeuwes,Ginna Lee and Linda Molenaar.
